The Indianapolis Men's Chorus 
Celebrates its 22nd Season.

With a growing roster that currently sits at 50 singers, the IMC proudly presents a full subscription concert series to the community of Indianapolis.  This season marks unprecedented collaboration for the chorus, with a Christmas commission and visit from the talented Minnesota composer Abbie Betinis, an April collaboration with the Quarryland Men's Chorus, including a pre-concert talk from renowned musicologist and Charles Ives scholar Dr. Peter Burkholder, and a lively discussion on the work of Stephen Sondheim from scholar Dr. Michael Sells in June.  

Apart from their subscription series, the IMC appears this season with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Sandy Patti in a staged concert production of Hello, Dolly!  On June 1st, the IMC presents its first ever Cabaret Night at at The Cabaret at the Columbia Club.  This November, the IMC was proud to spearhead a community arts initiative for the It Gets Better Project, a collaboration that included volunteers members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, faculty from several local college and universities, and singers from several area choruses.      

All members of the IMC are dues paying volunteers who donate thousands of hours to rehearsals, service projects and many benefit performances annually. The Indianapolis Men's Chorus has one small ensemble, IndyVisible.

     Greg Sanders currently serves as the Interim Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. Greg has long been an active choral musician in Indianapolis, performing in concert as pianist and assistant director with choruses at Butler University, Franklin College, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. He finished his master’s degree in choral conducting in May of 2011, where he studied with Dr. Eric Stark and Mr. Henry Leck. 
     Aside from his choral work, Greg is a vocal coach and chamber musician, performing extensively at the piano in recitals, festivals, conferences, and master classes in Indianapolis and regionally. He has held staff and faculty piano positions at Butler University and Franklin College where he coached and performed with many instrumentalists and singers, as well as taught courses in applied piano, accompanying and chamber music. Greg is a regular pianist for several Indianapolis-based musicians. He has given recitals at numerous regional colleges and universities. 
     Greg has performed in many parts of North America, including Chicago, Montreal, and the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as in concerts in Europe, including a recent tour of Scotland and England and a tour of South Florida with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club.  This past spring he traveled as the assistant conductor of the Butler University Chorale on a tour of Greece and Italy.

The Indianapolis Men's Chorus annually  performs at a wide variety of community, civic, and religious events, including the Penrod Arts Fair and Spotlight.  We are dedicated to promoting diversity, equality, and justice through the transformative power of music .
